Lakawon Island
Summer Heat? Beat it! Lakawon Island can truly beat the summer heat. It is in the Northern part of the Negros Occidental which is a part of Cadiz City.
Lakawon Island is a private island resort and is different in any white sand Islands in the Philippines. It's sands are creamy white textured with occasional pebbles. The banana shape of the Island is what makes it unique and the large relaxing floating bars made the Island a perfect get away from cities noisy and crowded bar parties.
The island long stretch of path walk from the boats docking port made the name Lakawon perfect for the island. Lakawon in native dialect of negros means " to walk" and its picture perfect.
The Island resort accommodations is somehow a balinese inspired with a modern twist and it has a variety of choices and rates.
The foods can vary from fresh to ready to serve.
HOW TO GET THERE
1. When you are already in Bacolod City, head on to Ceres North Terminal and ask the Dispatcher for trips to Cadiz City and tell them that you are going to Lakawon Island. It usually takes around 1 hour and a half ride in the bus.
2. When you arrive in Cadiz City, usually the driver and conductor will drop you in the gas station in Cadiz City. Upon arrival there, there's a tricycle there waiting for passengers going to jetty port.
3. Ask the tricycle driver to drop you in Cadiz Viejo jetty port going to Lakawon Island.
4. When you arrived in jetty port, you must make registration first for the boat's manifest and pay PHP 300.00 (one time payment only for going forth and back).
5. Once you get to the Island, proceed immediately to the reception office for hotel or room bookings.
Note: During summer or peak season, you must make reservations in advance.
